in which there are 79 days left

I'm not sure if I'm just going to stick with the countdown, actually. It works for now, because I'm too lazy to think of anything else.

I dragged myself out of bed at about 5 this morning; I slept in my running shirt to try and cut out any excuses this morning. I always enjoy my morning runs, they make the whole day better- it's crawling out of bed and getting to them that is so damned hard. Leaving my superwarm bed to get dressed in my freezing room is always such a challenge. Thirty- five minutes this morning, at sunrise, one of those runs where I am in love with the world. My iPod tells me I puled my fastest training mile yet this morning, although it certainly didn't feel like I was working that hard. It was a gorgeous morning that I really, really want to try and replicate more often.

I even made it to breakfast, where they were serving bread pudding. Is this a breakfast food? I thought it was a dessert, but I was so thrilled to see it served I didn't want to get too persnickety about the when it was served bit. I'm not sure orange juice, coffee, a cheese omelette and bread pudding are the cornerstones of a healthy breakfast, exactly, but it did a lot to make up for a crappy lunch.

Side note: one of Sam's moose mittens is nearly complete. How sad is that? One. At this pace, I expect I'll be finishing the second mitten in July. My knitting mojo is pretty low lately- I'm not finishing much. It matches my overall state of distraction, I suppose. Everything seems almost- but- not- quite- finished these days.
