See those boots? Those are my boots. I bought them at about this time past year, actually. They were inexpensive but took a real beating in the last 365 days or so. Good boots, considering all the walking I do here, and the terrain.
If you look closely, you'll see that one boot is darker than the other boot. Let me show you why:
I found out about the crack in my boot at the worst possible time- trudging through winter slush on my way to work this morning. 7 am and my boot was full of icy water which had filled from the sole up. Agh.
My foot is still cold, actually, despite a run, despite being nestled in an electric blanket right now, despite cuddly dry handknit socks. I have an uneasy suspicion that my foot may in fact never again feel fully warm, but I've felt that way before.
Note to self- it is probably a good idea to occasionally inspect my gear. Especially my daily- use gear. Duh.
