My new shoes arrived today! A pair of black Solar Earth Shoes. Earth Shoes have this "negative heel" thing going on- the toes are higher than the heel, the complete opposite of the normal shoe. It makes walking around in them feel different, definitely, but not in a bad way.

Folks have been suggesting this to me for years- ever since my back started acting up. To be honest, I've actually held out on trying them for a while now out of sheer perversity; I've come to hate the self- assured way people would tell me these shoes would bring about this enormous difference. Still, nothing else was working.

My shoes arrived today, and they fit perfectly. I went walking in them this evening and with handknit socks, they're warm and comfy. I had them shipped here so I'd have something easy to take off for airport security- no way I want to unlace/ relace my boots- but I'm already a little in love with them; they feel good, no real breaking- in period, they have the boxy toes I love so much in shoes, and almost every kind of shoe they make for women comes in at least one shade of red, sometimes two, and I am a complete sap for red shoes, it's ridiculous. (Hence this picture rather than one of my black pair.)

Red shoes that are good for my back- what a wonderful idea.

    that should get you there.
but, either way, it’ll be waiting for you in tangible form when you arrive home.
    =)
