in which we are five

Jason arrived last night, safe and sound. We thought for about an hour that his bag had been lost, which was no fun, but other than that it went relatively smoothly.

I am so used to this place being completely outside of what I think of as my Real Life, meaning my life in Maryland; it is so surreal to see him here. I’ll walk out of a building and see him outside and think, What is he doing here? So very welcome, though; damn, but it’s good to have him back in my daily life again, and so good to have a piece of home out here.

(That’s a picture from last year- shisha night, ages ago; I’m not going to try and photograph that poor man on his 1.5th day here.)
