in which I am missing Baltimore, still

this never gets old, originally uploaded by Sidereal.

I was standing in an office this morning, half- listening to chatter, half- watching a silenced newscast in the corner of the room. Television is so fascinating, not having one anymore: it’s like a train wreck, most days. This is how the world sees us, I think, which makes me sad.

Behind the newscaster was the Capitol Building in D.C., and I was suddenly caught up in homesickness.

For the folks back home who have asked me what I might need: pictures and postcards of Baltimore would do a girl some good, these days. A map of Baltimore to hang on my wall, maybe. I miss it, and I miss being there.
