how many times has someone titled a blog post “leavin’, on a jet plane” ?

Honestly, though.

I found out this afternoon that I’d be leaving tomorrow for pre- deployment training/ processing in Georgia on Friday afternoon- that being, tomorrow. I am so grateful that we were expecting things to come up suddenly- it makes this sort of flexibility possible.

Flying out of BWI tomorrow, spending the week in Georgia with Jason and Mick, going through the grinder— shots, med inspections, training, more training, and then, just possibly, even more training. Bah. Still- it had looked like I wouldn’t get to go with Mick and Jason- I’m thrilled we’re doing this part as  a team. If there’s any fun to be had in the experience, we’ll find it.

I’ll be back late next Friday, for a few days- I’m expecting to be landing in country on or around 5 Feb.

So glad to finally be getting moving; the sooner I leave, the sooner I’m home.

Be well. Keep in touch.

    Sarah,
Good luck! I was in the library looking for books on tape to entertain me while i knit this nvere ending sweater and found Jonathan Starnge and Mr. Norrill. That’s the one you recommended, right? I took it out and can’t wait to start it. Hang in there. may there be more knitting! And what is the deal with the dude in aviator goggles and long coat? Get thee to your video game! Thinking of you often, Kate
